Anyone who has ever scanned through late night television has come across the odd tele-evangelist here or there hitting people up for money. Many of them, like sharks in a shallow pool, prey on the desperate and hopeless. (There is a special place in Hell for these folks, no doubt).
Many a person has crossed ways with a local preacher who was perhaps a nice guy but it was obvious he was mostly interested in keeping the peace in town or trying to instill certain social values that he thought important.
But how many people ever check in with God to see what in the world He says about preaching? It is His idea after all.
